Police say he was stopped for having faulty brake lights
Joseph Edward McKee, 51, of Downingtown, was arrested for driving under the influence in the 200 block of Highland Avenue just after noon on Thursday, May 8, Downingtown Police said. After stopping McKee’s vehicle for having faulty brake lamps, an officer detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from McKee, who subsequently failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Bradford A. Hinchberger, 45, of Downingtown, was cited for public drunkenness in the 300 block of West Lancaster Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, Downingtown Police said. An officer took Hinchberger into custody after observing him staggering as he walked down the sidewalk, appearing as though he would fall, police said.
An 18-year-old Elizabethtown driver was cited for failing to yield after troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash on Rt. 322 at Romig Road in West Bradford Township on Friday, May 9, at 2:07 p.m., said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Police said Shaun M. Eckerd was stopped at the stop sign on Romig Road at Rt. 322 when he turned his 2004 GMC 2500HD into the westbound lane and was struck by a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus. The impact caused moderate injury to the driver and passenger in the Chrysler, who were taken to Paoli and Chester County Hospitals, police said. It also spun the Chrysler, which ended up facing west in the eastbound lane and caught on fire, police said.
