Downingtown Police: 46-year-old Thorndale resident was DUI

Nanette P. Allred, 46, of Thorndale, was arrested for DUI and traffic violations on Tuesday, April 29, at 9:39 p.m., Downingtown Police said. Allred allegedly operated a vehicle in a reckless manner, causing at least two accidents within three townships, police said. Allred was detained on Humpton Road in Caln Township, police said.

On Wednesday, April 28, at 1:26 a.m., Sarahann Kurman, 18, of Downingtown, was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness, Downingtown Police said. Contact was made with Kurman in the area of Brandywine and Washington Avenues, where an “extremely intoxicated” Kurman was screaming and running within the roadway, police said.

Sometime overnight on Wednesday, April 28, a red Huskie compressor, Echo chain saw, Kawasaki weed whacker and a Red Max weed whacker were stolen from a shed in the 300 block of West Uwchlan Avenue in East Caln Township, Downingtown Police said, adding that the items were valued at $1,700.

A traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue, west of Rt. 113 in Downingtown, led to DUI charges on Friday, April 25, at 8:58 p.m., said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Police said Louse Marie Reitman, 28, of Downingtown, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for suspected drunk-driving, police said.

A 63-year-old Downingtown man was stopped for speeding on Saturday, April 26, at 5:33 p.m. on the westbound U.S. 30 Bypass in West Whiteland Township, said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Upon making contact with Patrick R. Brown, police said they determined he had been operating his vehicle under the influence, adding that Brown admitted smoking marijuana prior to being detained. He was transported to Brandywine Hospital for a blood test before being processed at the barracks, police said.
