A pawn shop receipt linked him to crime, investigators said
On March 14, a resident of the 300 block of West Bala Terrace in West Chester reported the theft of three watches valued at $975 from her residence, West Whiteland Township Police said. An investigation determined that a contractor who had been working at the residence, Martin Krakower, 46, of Downingtown, was responsible for the theft, police said. Investigators were able to recover a receipt from a pawn shop in Pottstown indicating that Krakower had sold the stolen watches to the business on Jan. 30, police said. Krakower was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, West Whiteland Police said.
At 1:27 a.m. on March 22, officers from the West Whiteland Township Police Department responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Whitford Hills Road, police said. A patrol officer responding to the scene made contact with the driver, Cameron Kynett, 23, of Glenmoore, who showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for driving under the influence and released to a relative, police said.
Officers from the West Whiteland Township Police Department responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash near the intersection of South Whitford and Burke Roads at 2:54 a.m. on March 22. Patrol officers located the unoccupied BMW that was involved in the crash, and a patrol officer checking the area for the occupants observed a subject, later identified as Andrew Carpenter, 23, of Downingtown, run from a wooded area to a nearby vehicle on South Whitford Road, police said. The patrol officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Carpenter and another male, whose mother was driving the vehicle, police said. Both passengers acknowledged being in the BMW at the time of the crash; however, they said someone else was driving, police said. Police, who said they were unable to locate anyone with the driver’s name that was provided, described the pair as uncooperative. Carpenter was cited for public drunkenness, and the owner of the second vehicle – the woman’s husband – was also cited because the vehicle’s registration had expired, police said.
At 10:06 p.m. on March 24, an officer from the West Whiteland Township Police Department observed a subject who appeared to be staggering in the area of Commerce Drive and Iron Lake Drive, police said. The officer made contact with the subject, Albert DiPierro, 33, of Exton, who was placed under arrest for public intoxication, police said. The officer also recovered suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said. DiPierro was also charged with drug violations and released pending a criminal summons, West Whiteland Township Police said.
