Continuing an investigation into a brazen, $15,000 jewelry heist in December, the West Whiteland Township Police Department has obtained a third arrest warrant for a Philadelphia resident, police said.

Detectives are seeking Dewayne Baxter, 57,  who is also wanted for a bank robbery in Philadelphia, police said.  Kevin Blagmon, 57, and Keith Walker, 52, both of Philadelphia, were charged in January and are awaiting a preliminary hearing, police said.

Detectives believe four men were involved in the theft, which occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, at the Zales store in the Exton Square Mall, police said.

Investigators gave this account: Store employees reported that while one man waited outside, three males entered the store and separated once inside. The subjects spoke to different employees and asked to look at jewelry. None of the subjects made a purchase, and soon after they left the store, employees discovered two diamond rings valued at approximately $15,000, missing from a display cabinet.

Philadelphia Police said the 185-pound Baxter, whose last known address was in North Philadelphia,  allegedly entered a Republic Bank branch on Market Street near 18th Street on Dec. 19, handed the teller a demand note, and fled with a bag of cash.

Anyone with information on the theft or the whereabouts of Baxter is urged to contact the West Whiteland Township Police Department at 610-363-0200 or 610-692-5100. Persons wishing to remain anonymous can call the tip line at 610-594-9057 or send an email to tips@westwhiteland.org.
