West Whiteland police say driver assaulted by Chadds Ford man
West Whiteland Township Police said they responded to an assault complaint on Tuesday, March 4, in the area of Birchwood Drive and Whiteland Woods Boulevard. Police said they spoke with a motorist who had been the victim of a confrontation with another driver, who allegedly left the scene. West Whiteland Police subsequently located the driver, Jack M. Nescio, 36, of Chadds Ford, and charged him with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 14, court records said.
A detective from the West Whiteland Township Police investigated a report of a retail theft at the Exton WalMart on Friday, Feb. 21, concluding that Earl Hampton Jr., 55, of Kennett Square, and Christina Alessandrini, 31, of Quarryville, had stolen $570 worth of merchandise from the store, police said. Hampton and Alessandrini were charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy, police said.
On Saturday, March 1, West Whiteland officers investigated the reported theft of a package from a residence in the 500 block of West Boot Road. Michael Collas, 38, of West Chester, was determined to responsible for the theft, and he was charged accordingly, police said.
On Tuesday, March 4, an officer from the West Whiteland department responded to the Kohl’s store in Exton for a retail theft, learning that Ashley Barnett, 19, of Phoenixville, had stolen $209 worth of merchandise from the store, police said. Barnett was charged with misdemeanor retail theft and receiving stolen property and released on a criminal summons, police said.
On Wednesday, March 5, a West Whiteland officer responded to the Exton Kohl’s store for a retail theft complaint, police said. The responding officer was advised that an employee, Kimberly Wingate, 50, of Wilmington, De., had stolen $39 worth of merchandise from the store, police said, adding that Wingate was charged with summary retail theft.
West Whiteland Township Police officers responded to a reported assault in the area of Pottstown Pike and Bartlett Avenue on Friday, March 7, police said. The responding officer spoke to the victim, who stated that he was struck in the face after a confrontation with another motorist, Timothy Huchins, 47, of Parkesburg, police said. Huchins was charged with summary harassment, police said.
On Sunday, March 9, at 3:02 a.m., a Downingtown resident was stopped for speeding, tinted windows, and an inoperable tail light at Brighton Court at Wedgewood Drive in Caln Township, said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Police said Aaron B. Norris, 33, was determined to be driving under the influence and arrested for that and related offenses.
