Downingtown begins its Summer Jam series on Friday, June 26 with two stages of musical acts and lots of food.
“Downingtown area residents have been calling for nights of good entertainment and we’ve scheduled three great evenings,” said Jeff Thomas of Downingtown Main Street Association. “After our highly successful evening last year we decided to expand the concept this year.”
The Summer Jams will take place the last Friday of the next three months. The dates are June 26, July 31 and August 28. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mill Alley in the center of the borough.
“Members of the community, the borough and businesses and organizations are combining to make the Summer Jams possible,” said Becca Settle, a member of Downigntown Main Street Association and marketing and outreach coordinator for Kimberton Whole Foods.
On June 26 on Stage 1 the School of Rock will perform from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. On Stage 2 at 6 p.m. Clarabell will perform and will be followed at 7:00 p.m. by Pistachio Flavored Shoes and at 8:00 p.m. by Tessellations.
The food choices will include Margo’s Ice Cream shop, The Happy Pita, and Big Poppy Kettle Corn.
Kimberton Whole Foods, Synergema and School of Rock are the sponsors of the Summer Jams series.
