On Jan. 15, officers from the West Whiteland Township Police Department responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash on Rt. 202, police said. The driver, Julie Greenberg, 25, of Norristown, was transported by ambulance to Paoli Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said, noting that a patrol officer observed several items that had been thrown from the vehicle during the crash. The officer recovered a bag of suspected marijuana with the debris, police said.

On Feb. 4, West Whiteland officers investigated a reported assault that had occurred on the previous day in the 400 block of Hartford Square in West Chester, police said. The 17-year-old victim reported to police that he had been at the residence on Feb. 3 and that several people at the residence were consuming alcohol, police said. The victim said that he fell asleep at the residence and woke up the following morning; a friend later showed him a video of his being assaulted while he was sleeping at the residence, police said.
The video showed Michael Papilia, 18, of West Chester, standing over the victim wearing boxing gloves; a juvenile pulled the covers off of the victim and Papilia began punching the victim about the head and the face at least 10 times while another juvenile recorded the incident, police said. Papilia was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct; the two juveniles were charged with the same offenses and will need to appear at a juvenile hearing, police said.

An investigation determined that Kevin Norman, 21, of King of Prussia, was the customer involved in the second transaction, which caused a $239 loss to the store. Faison and Norman were each charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy, police said, adding that the third suspect has not yet been identified.
A theft from a motor vehicle led West Whiteland officers on March 12 to the Exton East shopping center in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway, police said. The victim said that he left a nearby restaurant and discovered a male in the back seat of his vehicle when he opened the door, police said. The subject fled to a nearby maroon Jeep, and the victim stood in front of the vehicle and told the man to stop; instead, he accelerated the vehicle in the direction of the victim, police said. The victim had to quickly move in order to escape being struck by the vehicle, which then left the area, police said.
On March 13, investigators located a Jeep in the 200 block of Village Walk in Exton that had distinguishable marks indicating that it was the vehicle involved in the incident, police said. Investigators located the vehicle’s owner, Brian Doggendorf, 18, of Exton; he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and related offenses after he matched the description of the suspect, police said. Doggendorf was arraigned and transported to Chester County Prison after failing to post $250,000 cash bail, police said.
