EXTON — The Chester County Food Bank (CCFB) has named Kevin McDermott of Citadel and Matthew Tucker of Pegasus Technologies to its board of directors. Kevin and Matthew join 14 other board members who help support the hunger relief organization.
Both new board members live in West Chester and work in Chester County. Kevin has been a CFS Wealth Advisor at Citadel for 25 years and works at the Citadel Wealth Management Center. Matthew, a lifelong Chester County resident, is CEO of Pegasus Technologies in Kennett Square and has been with Pegasus for 13 years.
The CCFB serves more than 120 partner agencies in Chester County, Pa. Through its network of food cupboards, hot meal sites, shelters and other social service organizations, each year the CCFB distributes more than 2.5 million pounds to Chester County residents with limited or uncertain access to adequate food.

“Growing up, I was unaware of the challenges many Chester County residents face in receiving quality food,” said Matthew Tucker, CEO, Pegasus Technologies. “As an adult, I’ve seen first-hand this is a serious problem in our area. As a CCFB board member, I will not only volunteer my time and resources, but I will encourage the Pegasus team as they adopt this as their cause.”
Taking a steadfast approach to provide food and build support in the neediest communities, the CCFB also raises awareness and engagement among the community. It was formed in 2009 to address the escalating hunger problem in Chester County. The primary goal of the CCFB is to have a viable, sustainable organization that secures, manages, and distributes food to those in need.
“As a Chester County resident, I am honored to join the board of the Chester County Food Bank and help in the important fight against hunger in our community,” said Kevin McDermott, CFS Wealth Advisor at Citadel. “In addition to feeding those in need, I will help raise awareness of the organization’s significant influence.”
Volunteers provide thousands of hours of support to the CCFB every year, ranging from processing fresh produce in the kitchen, packing Senior Food Boxes and donated food in the warehouse, to working the fields at local farm partners.
“There’s nothing more rewarding than providing food to our neighbors who need it most,” said Jeff March, President and CEO, Citadel, who also serves as Chair of the Board for the Chester County Food Bank. “I’m thrilled to have these two additional members of our board to contribute to this critical effort.”
