Variety of activities will include reenactors for Revolutionary, Civil Wars
The Chester County Historical Society is promising an educational, entertaining program of family fun and enrichment on Monday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The 2014 Family Day, which will benefit the New Horizons History Education Scholarship Fund, will include crafts, toys, dress-up and stories. Admission is $10 per family and free for members, a CCHS news release said.
All museum exhibits, including the acclaimed “Profiles: Chester County Clothing of the 1800s,” will be open. In addition, Noah Lewis, a Revolutionary War reenactor will portray Ned Hector, a hero at the Battle of the Brandywine, at 11 a.m.
Other scheduled programs are Colonial and Victorian era activities; plus, Keith Dome will portray a Union private in the 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry and will talk about the life of a Civil War soldier, and Morris Farnum will portray a Union chaplain (the 97th had two) and will cover the duties of a chaplain.
