Girls, glitz and glamour hit the new Avon Grove High School stage for the first spring musical in their brand-new auditorium on April 20th, 21st and 22nd with the teen edition of the musical Chicago!
Set in the windy city during the roaring 20s, Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses who are locked up together in Cook County Jail. Nightclub star Velma is serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two cheating together. Chorus girl and aspiring dancer Roxie finds herself in jail for shooting her lover. She meets, and is inspired by famous dancer Velma, who enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and well “respected” lawyer Billy Flynn. They turn Velma’s incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback. Roxie’s loving and loyal husband Amos works with Flynn to try to free Roxie by telling lies and manipulating the press. And Roxie’s got some of her own tricks up her sleeve…
Don’t miss our talented students in their rendition of the musical extravaganza that features one show-stopping number after another, including All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango and When You’re Good to Mama.

Students at Avon Grove have been working hard for months to make this musical amazing, with a full cast, crew, and a live pit orchestra.
Opening night is Thursday, April 20th at 7pm. There will be a show on Friday the 21st at 7pm and two shows on Saturday. A matinee at 2pm and the final performance at 7pm.
Tickets are $12 for students and seniors and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash or check only.
