The Chester County Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Chester County Bar Association, awarded $175,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations earlier this month.  All grants will help support the foundation’s mission to help Chester County Citizens understand, gain access to, and benefit from our legal system by providing support for programs and services related to the law.

Chester County Bar Foundation President, Sam Cortes, and the Foundation’s Board carefully reviewed grant applications from fifteen local 501c3 organizations. Cortes said, “due to the generosity of the Sponsors and Donors who have given to the Bar Foundation this year, we were able to support a long list of great charitable initiatives.”

Executive Director, Matt Holliday, stated, “We are so fortunate to have the sponsorship support for our Key Gala fundraising event, as well as the commitment to our Foundation Fellow Program, which allows our foundation to support the many worthwhile programs and services within our community.”

This year, the Bar Foundation held their Key Gala at Penn Oaks Golf Club. The event raised over $63,000. The Key Gala’s presenting sponsor, Key Bank, was instrumental in the fundraising success. Other top sponsors included USI Affinity, the law firm of MacElree Harvey, the law firm of Gawthrop Greenwood, S&T Wealth management, and WSFS Bank. All told, the event had the support of 25 Chester County Law Firms and Local Businesses, and the Chester County Bar Foundation is immensely grateful to all of them.
