To The Editor,
I’m writing to urge everyone in the 74th District to vote for Harry Lewis for State Representative on Tuesday, Nov. 4th. I am blessed to say that Mr. Lewis, or “Mr. Lew” as we called him in High School, played a big role in my life and personal development.
I first met Mr. Lewis during my freshman year at Coatesville Area High School, when I decided to run track. In addition to being my coach, Mr. Lewis was also my teacher when I was an upperclassman. He always pushed me to do my absolute best. And, if I was not putting in 100%, he always made sure I knew about it.
One particular morning in the fall, Mr. Lewis asked if my friend and I would join him for breakfast. With our teacher’s approval, we jumped at the chance. As we were driving, Mr. Lewis informed us that although we would be eating, it would be a father-son breakfast hosted at an elementary school in our district and that we were to speak on the topic of maintaining good grades as an athlete. My forte is not in public speaking, but Mr. Lewis encouraged me to talk to the young children because he knew that it would not only better them but myself as well. That is the kind of person Mr. Lewis is; one that dedicates time not only to his own students and athletes, but goes above and beyond to help out everyone and anyone he can.
Serving our community as State Representative is not a stepping stone for Mr. Lewis. Rather, it is the continuation of the service he’s provided our community his entire life and culmination of his career. No one has proven himself to be a selfless advocate for our community more than Mr. Lewis. Please do the right thing and vote for Harry Lewis on Election Day.
