WEST CHESTER — Chester County Commissioners Michelle Kichline, Kathi Cozzone and Terence Farrell announce the appointment of Kara Rahn as Deputy County Administrator effective November 26th. Rahn, 41, moves to this new role from the Department of Voter Services, where she has served as Director for nearly three years.

As Deputy County Administrator, Rahn will support County Administrator Bobby Kagel in the supervision and direction of all County government programs and administrative operations.  She will also undertake the duties of Chief Clerk for Chester County. Prior to serving as Director of Voter Services, Rahn was the assistant director of Chester County Voter Services.

Commenting on this appointment, all three Commissioners noted: “During her time as leader and deputy leader of Voter Services, Kara was intrinsic in directing the certification process of Chester County’s election results.  Her experience in managing this process, alongside the day-to-day running of the department and her work with state, county and local municipal representatives demonstrates a thorough understanding of county government systems.

“We’re confident that she will undertake the deputy administrator role with professionalism, providing strong support to our County Administrator Bobby Kagel.”

Before joining Chester County Government, Rahn held a managerial role at Exelon, based at Limerick Generating Station, was deputy director of the Delaware County Transportation Management Association, and served as government affairs coordinator and community relations representative for PECO.

Rahn, of West Chester, is a graduate of Shippensburg University and has an MBA degree from Eastern University.
