It’s summer, it’s summer, it’s summer….HOORAY! OK, I realize that technically it’s not summer until Thursday, June 21st at 6:07am, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s here! A change in the season calls for a few new items for your wardrobe, right? Luckily, I have a Summer Super Six to provide a little inspiration. Here we go…
Blank NYC Denim Skirt ($88) – If you are shorts-phobic (not a legitimate disorder, even though it feels like one) but hate the thought of sweating to death in pants come mid-July, this denim skirt is your new best friend. It’s perfect because it is an appropriate length without veering into frumpy land (not a real place, even though we all know where it is). I love the fit and the color. Scoop one up for yourself here: https://bit.ly/2JlYcAd
Essie’s “Butler Please” Nail Polish – I am rather conservative when it comes to my manicure. I basically rotate between nude, white, black, and red depending on the season. But, I get wild with a pedicure. The deep blue of this polish screams summer! I bought mine at CVS.
MODCLOTH Fringe Slide Sandals ($65) – Now that you have pretty toes, show them off in a great pair of shoes! A fun sandal is a fabulous way to elevate your look. Imagine these paired with your new denim skirt and a white tank top. SO CUTE, right? Click here : https://bit.ly/2sqUwUd
Anthropologie Potomac Boater Hat ($58) – My hair in the heat and humidity is my nemesis. There is no controlling it, honestly. Therefore, I don’t try to fight it and end up wearing a hat whenever possible. The positive side effect of this decision is sun protection for my face. I like this hat because of the size and structure (not too large and floppy). The detail work on the brim and the black ribbon give it style. Get yours here : https://bit.ly/2LUR4cn
CUPSHE Heart Attack Falbala One Piece ($26.80!) – Aaaaaaah, shopping for bathing suits. Is there anything in life more humbling? I can’t think of one. Others may disagree but my experience with purchasing this particular garment is that the more money you spend does not necessarily guarantee a positive result. While the quality may be better in terms of the fabric, a $200 suit doesn’t make my thighs look any smaller. Therefore, I’d rather spend less and be able to justify buying a really pretty cover-up (which gets more use for me anyway). I ordered this one-piece a few days ago and my fingers are crossed that this could be THE ONE. Check out the website, there are lots of pretty options for a steal : https://bit.ly/2xzVFOa
Laura Mercier Caviar Eyeshadow Stick in Amethyst ($29) – My summer makeup routine is a seriously scaled down version compared to other times of the year. Who wants to be bothered with a million products when it’s hot and humid? Not me. I love this Caviar Stick because it imparts a subtle shimmer. Available in a variety of colors, I was partial to this soft mauve shade. Get one at Houppette located at 3842 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE.
There you have it! I hope that this Super Six is the kickstart to a fantastic summer season! As always, feel free to share YOUR must-haves in the Comment section below.
Happy Weekend
