Yes, you can dress for Easter Sunday

One of my fondest childhood memories from Easter Sunday (besides the obvious time with family and hoards of candy) was the opportunity to wear white patent leather shoes, a lace dress, hat, and gloves. No, I did not grow up in Colonial times (despite what my kids say) but in the late 70’s it was appropriate to get all decked out. I feel like that doesn’t happen anymore.

People are too casual, if you ask me. Then again, I would categorize myself as a “chronic over dresser”. Better to err on the side of fancy, I say. I wish that I could include a good, retro picture….and by “wish”, I mean it’s possible but would NEVER happen because I have friends who would use it for the REST OF MY LIFE. So, just imagine it.

While I will probably not rock a sun hat to church this year (or white elbow length gloves), I have found a few dresses, shoes, and accessories that are really cute (and reasonably priced).

Here we go….

  • Top Shop Tie Front Minidress ($80) love, love, love the color! Perfect for spring and beyond. You can wear this to work or out for date night after the holiday. It can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with a straw platform sandal. Gotta get it. Click here: https://bit.ly/2DPZpJ1
  • Anthropologie Bow T-strap Heels ($128) – these beauties pair with the above-suggested dress like peanut butter and chocolate (are Reeses PB Eggs not the BEST Easter candy?) The block heel adds a bit of height without sacrificing comfort – which is a key factor for me when purchasing shoes. They come in a variety of colors, I was partial to the dark yellow. • Sunset Lucite Clutch ($98) – Tie the look together with this AMAZING clutch. Comes with a removable chain for cross-body wear. Looks verrrrry Park Avenue. Scoop one up for yourself : https://bit.ly/2G6dvIn

LOFT Dotted Wrap Jumper ($79.50 with 30% off) – Girl, I love a romper. And polka dots. So, this is a no-brainer. It looks like a dress, but there are shorts hidden underneath! I’m feelin’ extra “must have” vibes. Click here: https://bit.ly/2HUPODl

  • Splendid Bedford Espadrilles ($98.95) – Considering that there is still snow on the ground from last Wednesday’s blizzard, I realize it is difficult to wrap your brain around wearing open toed sandals….BUT, these are a great transition shoe because of the suede ruffle detail. Make sure to get a pedicure after that loooooooong winter. You don’t want to frighten anybody. Click here to purchase: https://bit.ly/2ueJSTz
  • Bauble Bar Mini Granita Tassel Earring ($36) – When you wear a monochromatic outfit, it really makes a statement to add a bold pop of color. These beaded, fringe earrings do the trick. Keep your makeup simple with the exception of a lipstick in the same shade of red and you will be the talk of the town. Click here : https://bit.ly/2GgPHVn

I hope this helps with your outfit planning for next Sunday! As always, feel free to leave your comments or questions in the section below.

Happy Weekend
