Doorbell reportedly rung after bag is set on fire, left at W. Bradford home

State police from the Embreeville barracks said they are investigating an incident of criminal mischief that involved placing an ignited bag of feces on a West Bradford Township resident’s welcome mat on Saturday, April 5, at 12:30 a.m. Police said the perpetrator then rang the doorbell and fled, damaging the welcome mat. Anyone with information is asked to contact the barracks at 484-340-3241.

Public drunkenness charges were lodged against a West Chester man after he was found in his parked vehicle with an open container, state police said. Police said when they made contact with Jesus Manuel Martinez Minero in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Marshallton-Thorndale Road in West Bradford Township, he was “highly intoxicated” and was transported to Brandywine Hospital.

A witness observed two 15-year-old males vandalizing an abandoned vehicle on Saturday, April 5, at 2:57 p.m. in the 1000 block of Glenside Road in West Bradford Township, said state police, adding that the “incident is under further investigation.”

A 40-year-old Ronks resident was cited for following too closely after rear-ending a BMW 328i on the U.S. 30 Bypass on Friday, April 4, at 7:33 a.m., said state police. Police said Aaron G. Esh was traveling eastbound in the left lane in a GMC Sierra and failed to see that the traffic had slowed, just west of Rt. 113 in East Caln Township. The 22-year-old driver of the BMW, which had to be towed from the scene, was transported to Brandywine Hospital for treatment of apparent injuries, police said.
