WEST CHESTER — Bishop Shanahan could not stop a fourth-quarter drive, and lost a tough 21-14 decision to West Chester Henderson in the opening round of the PIAA District One AAA playoffs, Friday night.
The Eagles (5-6) traded touchdowns all night with the 7-4 Warriors — and for the most part were able to mostly contain the strong Henderson running game. But it was the final drive where the Shanahan defense could not find a way to stop Warriors senior running back Chris Girafalco — who carried the ball on 10 of the final 12 plays of the decisive drive, scoring from seven yards out with just 1:18 to play.
For the Eagles, Dan Murphy rushed for 128 yards and a score in the game.
