Caln woman charged with injecting teen daughter with heroin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><em><strong>Faces various child endangerment, drug charges<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>By Mike McGann<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><em>Editor, The Times<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1193859\" style=\"width: 267px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Riffey-257x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1193859\" class=\"wp-image-1193859 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Riffey-257x300.jpg\" alt=\"Riffey\" width=\"257\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1193859\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jessica Lynn Riffey<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A West Caln mother is accused of injecting her 14-year-old daughter and another teen with heroin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced charges Monday against Jessica Lynn Riffey, 34, for allegedly supplying heroin to her 14-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old boy and injecting the drug into both of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSupplying anyone with heroin is a potential death sentence,\u201d Hogan said in a statement. \u201cInjecting children, including your own daughter, with heroin demonstrates a depravity that defies belief.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The charges came after township police responded to the woman\u2019s Telegraph Road home for a well-being check on her daughter on Oct. 1.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Police said both teens <\/span><span class=\"s1\">reported <\/span><span class=\"s2\">that Riffey supplied <\/span><span class=\"s1\">them with <\/span><span class=\"s2\">heroin and injected them with heroin on multiple occasions at the home last month<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. Police said that teens were able to describe the process in some detail and claimed that Riffey\u2019s boyfriend, not identified in the statement, allegedly provided both of them a snortable version of the drug.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Upon hearing this account, township police immediately began an investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201cThe <\/span><span class=\"s1\">West Can Police Department and Chester County Detectives worked diligently and swiftly to unravel this disturbing crime,\u201d West Caln Police Chief Curt Martinez said. \u201cThe children are now safe and we will continue to investigate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Riffey was arrested and charged with the endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, drug delivery and other related charged. She was remanded to Chester County Prision in Pocopson in lieu of $50,000 bail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Police are asking anyone who may have information about this case to contact either Chief Martinez or Sgt.
