Also pictured are Michelle\u2019s husband, Michael Kichline, and her daughter Amanda (right).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>WEST CHESTER \u2013 A large gathering of family, friends and dignitaries came to witness the swearing in of Chester County\u2019s newly appointed Commissioner, Michelle Haris Kichline, Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Chester County Court of Common Pleas President Judge, James P. MacElree II, presided over the ceremony and administered Kichline\u2019s Oath of service.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees were welcomed by Valentino DiGiorgio III, Chairman, Republican Committee of Chester County. The formal ceremony commenced with Kichline\u2019s husband, Michael and daughter, Amanda, leading attendees to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Judge MacElree, on behalf of all the judges, underscored the significance of the occasion during his opening remarks to the filled courtroom, \u201cIt is the continuance of government that we are witnessing today&#8230;having Commissioners who understand their role to citizens and to the courts is of great importance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three-member County Commissioner board is the chief governing body of Chester County. Kichline will serve alongside Commissioners Kathi Cozzone and Terrence Farrell; and is serving the final year of the four-year Commissioner term left vacant by Ryan Costello who was recently elected to Congress.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14203\" style=\"width: 311px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/IMG_2302.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14203\" class=\"wp-image-14203 \" style=\"border: 2px solid #000000; margin: 4px;\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/IMG_2302-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Commissioners Kathi Cozzone (left) Michelle Kichline (center) &amp; Terrence Farrell (right)\" width=\"301\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14203\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Commissioners Kathi Cozzone (left) Michelle Kichline (center) &amp; Terrence Farrell (right)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cMichelle has an outstanding track record in public service,\u201d says DiGiorgio, \u201cHer service as Chairman of the Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors, and numerous civic and governmental boards will allow her to hit the ground running as a new Commissioner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During her remarks, Kichline expressed her gratitude to the court and attendees, \u201cI am humbled and honored that you are all here with me today; and am especially honored that the judges trust me with this important role. I pledge to work hard, keep my door open and come to your communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Kichline thanked her parents, Angela and Bela Haris, for their bravery; explaining, \u201cIn 1956 they left everything in Hungary to start a new life in the United States; and it is because of this courage I have had the opportunities that have enabled me to stand before you today.
