It is a day when wearing green does not necessarily mean you are an Eagles fan.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The\u00a049th\u00a0Annual\u00a0Wilmington\u00a0St.\u00a0Patrick\u2019s\u00a0Day\u00a0Parade\u00a09 <i><a id=\"OWAe0fca756-b6b4-8b83-c9e6-97515d57e04f\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishcultureclubde.com\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_new\">https:\/\/www.irishcultureclubde.com\/<\/a><\/i>) will\u00a0take\u00a0place\u00a0on March\u00a014\u00a0in\u00a0downtown\u00a0Wilmington,\u00a0featuring\u00a0a\u00a0festive\u00a0procession\u00a0and\u00a0post-parade\u00a0Hooley\u00a0celebration.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">It\u00a0begins\u00a0at\u00a0noon at\u00a0the\u00a0intersection\u00a0of\u00a04th\u00a0and\u00a0King\u00a0streets\u00a0and\u00a0proceeds\u00a0north\u00a0along\u00a0King\u00a0Street.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The parade features a vibrant mix of pipe and drum bands, Irish dancers, high school marching bands, first responders, and community organizations.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Spectators\u00a0often\u00a0dress\u00a0in\u00a0green,\u00a0wave\u00a0flags,\u00a0and\u00a0cheer\u00a0as\u00a0participants\u00a0march\u00a0through\u00a0downtown\u00a0Wilmington.\u00a0Traditional\u00a0Irish\u00a0music,\u00a0step\u00a0dancing,\u00a0and\u00a0colorful\u00a0floats\u00a0create\u00a0a\u00a0lively,\u00a0family-friendly\u00a0atmosphere.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The parade is organized by the Irish Culture Club of Delaware, a nonprofit founded in 1976 and dedicated to preserving and promoting Irish culture throughout the region.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">In addition to the annual parade, the organization hosts cultural events, dinners, music performances, and educational programs that celebrate Irish history and traditions across Delaware.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The\u00a02026\u00a0Grand\u00a0Marshal\u00a0is\u00a0Nora\u00a0Smith,\u00a0recognized\u00a0for\u00a0her\u00a0decades\u00a0of\u00a0service\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0ICCD\u00a0and\u00a0dedication\u00a0to\u00a0Irish\u00a0heritage.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">At the conclusion of the parade route at 14th and King Streets, the annual Hooley continues the celebration.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Attendees are welcome to enjoy the parade from this location and remain for the festivities that follow.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Alcohol and food will be available for purchase, and the club\u2019s yearly commemorative beer mugs will be sold for $20. First\u00a0held\u00a0in\u00a01771,\u00a0it celebrates more than 250\u00a0years\u00a0of\u00a0Irish\u00a0heritage\u00a0and\u00a0culture.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The\u00a02026\u00a0parade\u00a0theme\u00a0is\u00a0\u201cSt.\u00a0Patrick,\u00a0Bless\u00a0Those\u00a0Dedicated\u00a0to\u00a0Serving\u00a0Others!\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Parade\u00a0Mass will be held at 9 a.m. at\u00a0St.\u00a0Patrick&#8217;s\u00a0Church,\u00a0which is located at 20th\u00a0and\u00a0Locust\u00a0Streets. It will be celebrated\u00a0by\u00a0Archbishop\u00a0Nelson\u00a0Perez\u00a0and\u00a0Chaplain\u00a0Father\u00a0Kevin\u00a0Gallagher.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The procession is led by the Philadelphia Emerald Society Pipe Band. Music will be provided by Bishop Shanahan High School Choir.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Parade starts at 11 a.m. at\u00a016th\u00a0Street\u00a0and\u00a0John\u00a0F.\u00a0Kennedy\u00a0Boulevard and proceeds\u00a0north\u00a0along\u00a016th\u00a0Street\u00a0to\u00a0Benjamin\u00a0Franklin\u00a0Parkway.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">On March 14, Newtown Square Historical Society (3716 Goshen Rd, Newtown Square, <a href=\"http:\/\/nshistory.org\/\">nshistory.org<\/a>) will host its annual \u201cIrish History Tour\u201d from noon-4 p.m. at the Square Tavern and Paper Mill House.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Society is inviting visitors to experience the warm and charming experience of the period-decorated 1700\u2019s Historic Square Tavern. Costumed guides will explain Newtown\u2019s rich history, and visitors can enjoy samplings of Irish cakes, breads, cheeses, ales and mead.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">At the Paper Mill House, guests can experience Newtown\u2019s 1800\u2019s history and examine the life of mill workers along the Darby Creek. They can browse more than 10 rooms full of local history and 1800\u2019s decor.
