{"id":23218,"date":"2021-01-30T08:21:06","date_gmt":"2021-01-30T13:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/?p=23218"},"modified":"2021-01-30T08:21:36","modified_gmt":"2021-01-30T13:21:36","slug":"chesco-sending-letters-to-voters-who-requested-permanent-vote-by-mail-ballots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/?p=23218","title":{"rendered":"Chesco sending letters to voters who requested \u2018Permanent\u2019 Vote-by-Mail ballots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Vote.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13294\" src=\"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Vote-307x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"307\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>WEST CHESTER \u2014 By Monday, Feb. 1, staff at Chester County\u2019s Voter Services will have sent letters to all county voters who selected the \u2018permanent\u2019 vote-by-mail option for the 2020 elections.\u00a0 The letter asks \u2018permanent\u2019 voters to confirm their preference to continue receiving a mail-in or absentee ballot for both the Primary and General elections in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The letter is going to more than 115,000 voters in Chester County who requested to be on the \u2018permanent\u2019 list of mail-in voters for the 2020 elections.\u00a0 Sending this letter is an annual requirement of PA Act 77, the bipartisan bill that created the option to vote by mail. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The letter sent by Chester County Voter Services gives four response options:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete the online form via a link or QR code provided in the letter to receive ballots in the mail for both elections in 2021;<\/li>\n<li>Complete a paper form included as part of the letter and return it to Voter Services to receive ballots in the mail for both elections in 2021;<\/li>\n<li>Complete the section of the letter that requests cancellation of the permanent vote and return it to Voter Services to remove themselves from the permanent voter list.<\/li>\n<li>Take no action, which means no ballots will be sent in the mail for both elections in 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the 2020 General Election, Chester County officially recorded 151,149 absentee and mail-in ballots, representing nearly 48 percent of all votes cast.
