{"id":21557,"date":"2020-06-01T08:20:59","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T12:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/?p=21557"},"modified":"2020-06-01T08:21:04","modified_gmt":"2020-06-01T12:21:04","slug":"chesco-adds-additional-ballot-drop-off-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/?p=21557","title":{"rendered":"Chesco adds additional ballot drop off locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Election2020.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-11916\" src=\"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Election2020-326x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>The Chester County Board of Elections approved today the addition of five secure drop-off locations for mail-in and absentee ballots for the 2020 Primary Election. \u00a0\u00a0These additional sites have been created to accommodate voters who are concerned that their mail-in ballot may be returned too late by the postal service to be counted.<\/p>\n<p>The five new drop-off locations are added to the drop-off location already established at the Chester County Government Services Center in West Chester. \u00a0Each drop-off location contains a locked, tamper-proof drop box which is guarded and will not be left unattended at any time.<\/p>\n<p>From Monday June 1<sup>st<\/sup> through to Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, the following locations will accept mail-in and absentee ballots:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chester County Government Services Center<\/strong>, 601 Westtown Road, West Chester, PA<\/p>\n<p>Located in the lobby. Open all hours until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chester County Public Safety Training Campus<\/strong>, 137 Modena Road, Coatesville, PA<\/p>\n<p>Located at the test site greeter station. Open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Longwood Gardens South Parking Lot<\/strong>, 1010 East Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA<\/p>\n<p>Located at the test site greeter station.\u00a0 Open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kimberton Fair Grounds<\/strong>, 762 Pike Springs Road, Phoenixville, PA<\/p>\n<p>Located in the parking lot.\u00a0 Open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warwick County Park<\/strong>, 191 County Park Road, Pottstown, PA<\/p>\n<p>Located in the park office.\u00a0 Open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Battle of the Clouds Park<\/strong>, 125 North Phoenixville Pike, Malvern, PA<\/p>\n<p>Located in the parking lot.\u00a0 Open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>All mail-in and absentee ballots are due by 8:00 p.m. on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2020.\u00a0 Under state election law, voters are only permitted to place their own ballots in the secure drop boxes at the drop-off locations, and cannot drop off ballots for relatives, friends or others.<\/p>\n<p>Chester County received just under 92,000 mail-in and absentee ballot application requests by the application deadline on May 26<sup>th<\/sup>, and has so far received nearly 65,000 returned ballots by mail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chester County Board of Elections approved today the addition of five secure drop-off locations for mail-in and absentee ballots for the 2020 Primary Election. \u00a0\u00a0These additional sites have been created to accommodate voters who are concerned that their mail-in ballot may be returned too late by the postal service to be counted.
