{"id":2032,"date":"2014-06-12T09:57:57","date_gmt":"2014-06-12T13:57:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/?p=2032"},"modified":"2014-06-12T09:57:57","modified_gmt":"2014-06-12T13:57:57","slug":"bass-fishing-tournaments-resume-june-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/?p=2032","title":{"rendered":"Bass fishing tournaments resume June 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Bass-275x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-807183\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" alt=\"Bass\" src=\"http:\/\/downingtowntimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Bass-275x300.jpg\" width=\"275\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Howdy Benner, along with Chris &amp; Kim Urban, Howard John and Linda Taylor, all of Chester County, will again spearhead TNT \u2013 Tuesday Night Tournaments \u2014 which kicks off the 2014 season on June 17.<\/p>\n<p>This bass fishing tournament on Marsh Creek Lake is held every Tuesday nights through Aug. 27.<\/p>\n<p>This is an open event with a $30 fee and $10 for a Lunker entry.\u00a0 The tournament runs from 6 pm &#8211; 10 pm.\u00a0 Requirements are that boats require an electric motor, live-well, lights \u2013 and a valid fishing license, of course.\u00a0 An average of 25 boats participate each week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The beneficiary last year was St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Research Hospital \u2013 with a check for $1,200 (20% of entry fees) and a card signed by each fisherman.\u00a0 The other 80% as cash to 1<sup>st<\/sup> through 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place winners for total weight, and 100% to the winner of the Lunker (largest fish) category each week as funds for that is submitted separately.\u00a0 Fourth place winners received gift cards from Wawa and\/or gift bags from The Protection Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s winners of Big Bag of the Summer \u2013 Randy &amp; Chris Patton \u2013 the highest total weight of fish for the entire tournament.\u00a0 Lunker of the Summer went to Chris Patton.<\/p>\n<p>On an average Tuesday night, weight was between 80 \u2013 100 lbs.\u00a0 That\u2019s a lot of fish!<\/p>\n<p>Lunkers averaged 4.5 lbs.<\/p>\n<p>TNT will be back next year.\u00a0 Details, as they become firm, will be posted on Gordon\u2019s Sports Supply website in the future. &#8212;\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gordonssportssupply.com\">www.gordonssportssupply.com<\/a>.\u00a0 For more information you can email <a href=\"mailto:tnttournaments@gmail.com\">tnttournaments@gmail.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Mr. Benner states, \u201cTNT 2014 will be bigger and better. \u00a0We will do things a little differently and actually collect food donations at registration, as well.
