Three new Assistant District Attorneys have joined the <\/span>Chester County District Attorney’s Office. Stefanie Friedman, Kaitlyn Macaulay, and Scott Werner were sworn in <\/span>before the Honorable Allison Bell Royer.<\/p>\n

D<\/span>istrict <\/span>Attorney Hogan stated, <\/span>“Cheste<\/span>r <\/span>County is fortunate to add these three prosecutors to <\/span>our team. We seek the best and brightest prosecutors, and then <\/span>try to make them <\/span>even better. Stefa<\/span>nie, <\/span>Kaitlyn, and Scott will do their utmost to <\/span>protect the <\/span>good citizens of Chester County.”<\/p>\n

Stefanie Friedman <\/span>rece<\/span>ived <\/span>her <\/span>undergraduate degree fro<\/span>m <\/span>Morav<\/span>ian <\/span>Co<\/span>llege <\/span>and her <\/span>law degree from<\/span> Temple<\/span> University School of Law. She had p<\/span>revious<\/span> experience as an<\/span> intern with a judge, a law<\/span> firm, and a prosecutor’s office.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaitlyn Macaulay rece<\/span>ived <\/span>her undergraduate degree from <\/span>the U<\/span>niversit<\/span>y <\/span>of Arizona and her law degree <\/span>from Villanova <\/span>University School of Law. She previously was a research assistant for a law <\/span>professor and an in<\/span>tern <\/span>for the <\/span>Administrative Office of the <\/span>P<\/span>ennsylvania <\/span>Courts.<\/p>\n

Scott Werner receive<\/span>d <\/span>his undergraduate degree <\/span>from Penn <\/span>State Univers<\/span>ity <\/span>and his law degree fro<\/span>m <\/span>Widener University Sc<\/span>hool <\/span>of Law. He is a vetera<\/span>n <\/span>prosecutor, havi<\/span>ng <\/span>served as an Assistant District <\/span>Attorney in <\/span>Lycoming and Tioga Counties.<\/p>\n

At the <\/span>swearing-in ceremony, Judge Royer spoke to the new <\/span>prosecutors about always maintaining a balanced approach <\/span>to their prosecutions, considering each case on <\/span>its merits <\/span>and each defendant <\/span>as an individual. Judge <\/span>Royer also reminded the prosecutors <\/span>that they were entrusted with i<\/span>nc<\/span>redi<\/span>ble <\/span>authority a<\/span>nd <\/span>power, and to use <\/span>that power with integrity.<\/p>\n

District Attorney <\/span>Hogan spoke to <\/span>the n<\/span>ew <\/span>prosecutors about their partnership <\/span>with law enforcement, and <\/span>how they <\/span>are lucky to work wit<\/span>h <\/span>Chester <\/span>County police officers. He <\/span>also to<\/span>ld<\/span><\/p>\n

them to look to the strength of victims <\/span>for inspiration, reminding the new <\/span>prosecutors of the extraordinary courage of child victims, rape victims, and the families of murder victims.<\/p>\n
