The Haunted Acres will be among the top local Halloween attractions in 2014.

COATESVILLE — Hurricane Hill Farm announced that its Halloween attraction, The Haunted Acres, has opened as one of Pennsylvania’s newest and scariest haunts.

Located in the North Woods at Hurricane Hill Farm (704 East Reeceville Road in Coatesville), the event features a haunted hay ride, corn maze and trail.  Created by Aven Warren and Christina Gordon of Nightmare Toy Box (Millville, NJ), Haunted Acres was the dream of 24-year old Coatesville resident Steve Trego, who has helped at his family’s farm since a young age.  Hurricane Hill has hosted a daytime corn maze for the last 11 years.

Guests will enter the Haunted Acres through a haunted hay ride called “Realm of Darkness.”  The hay ride will take guests through a 5 or 6 acre journey where they will visit numerous sets including the Ghost Town, Toxic Dump, Grimm Mortuary, and Cemetery (complete with haunted crypts and zombie bunnies)  and many more.

Next up is the Blood Bayou where guests will disembark from the hay ride and begin a walk through a trail in a dark scary woods.  They will pass by hillbilly shacks, possibly bump into the Cornstalker and Buford Grimm, try to find their way out through the pallet maze, and will come across other creepy things along the way.  Guests will not know what’s coming around the next corner!

The final activity on this haunted journey is the Cornevil corn maze where visitors will walk through a haunted corn field trying to find their way out.  Killer the Klown, and others, are known to stalk the corn field.

Fog machines, lasers, dim lighting, and animatronics are all part of the haunt.  Said Aven Warren, “This is not somebody’s back yard haunt.  A lot of time and research went into this.  This is something you’ve got to see!”

Haunted Acres at Hurricane Hill Farm is located at 704 E. Reeceville Road, Coatesville, PA,  and will be open during October on Friday and Saturday:  7 pm to 10:30 pm, and Sunday:  7 pm to 9:30 pm.

Ticket booth opens at 6:30 pm.  A standard ticket is $25.00 for all three attractions.
