Friends Association for children announces new trustees

WEST CHESTER— Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children announces the appointment of the Executive Committee Board of Trustees, as well as the full slate of officers for 2018.

Leading the Board of Trustees are Brian Boreman, Matt Holliday, Lee Bohs and Serita Spadoni.

“All four of our Executive Committee members embody the spirit of community and bring talent, expertise and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have them by our side as we continue to strengthen community and promote the independence of families with children by providing shelter, programs and services that prevent and end homelessness in Chester County,” said Catherine Friedman, Executive Director.

Brian D. Boreman, Board President, is a shareholder in the law firm of Unruh, Turner, Burke & Frees and chairs the firm’s Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice in the areas of labor & employment law, shareholder disputes, and commercial litigation. Outside of his practice, he teaches Employment Law as an adjunct professor at Villanova University. Boreman was repeatedly named as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” before being named as a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer” in Philadelphia Magazine every year since 2014. He has received the highest rating of “Preeminent” from Martindale-Hubbell, as determined by fellow practitioners and judges, and has been consistently named as a “Top Lawyer” for Labor Law by Main Line Today Magazine.

Matt Holliday, Board Vice President, was elected Chester County Prothonotary on November 3rd, 2015. Even before serving as County Prothonotary, Holliday believed it was important to be an active member of our Chester County community. That is why Matt serves as the Immediate Past President of the West Chester Public Library Board of Trustees, the Governance Committee Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, the Public Relations Chairman and Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of West Chester, a Member and Secretary of the Board of Directors for the West Chester Area Senior Center, the President of the Board of Directors of the West Chester Downtown Foundation, the President of the Board of Directors for the West Chester University Alumni Association, the Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Friars’ Society Alumni Association, a member of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, a member of the Student Services Inc. Board of Directors, Vice President of the Arc of Chester County’s Board of Directors, a member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the West Chester Business Improvement District. Previously he served for four years as the Vice President of the West Chester Parks and Recreation Commission.

Lee Bohs, Board Treasurer, is Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at Nobel Learning Communities. Bohs is a CPA.   Also, he previously served on the Board of Directors of Intecap, Inc. and Vantas, Inc. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, in addition to the American and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Serita Spadoni, Board Secretary, spent most of her working career in the area of Communications as a translator and interpreter, an editor, project manager of publications, programs and events as well as an Administrator for international organizations, and briefly as an Educator, including as a literacy teacher for Chester County. She has done volunteer service in Mexico, has served on a number of non-profit, local and national boards.
